What we need and how you can help:

In so many ways 2020 has been a year unlike any year.  For St. Andrew’s, 2020 has brought immense change to our community and how we worship. It happens and we have pivoted multiple times to continuously engage our community and move forward with our mission. “Inspiring change by following Jesus” is more than just our mission statement, it is at the core of everything we do. Due to substantial decreases in income from rental space and donations we have already begun a series of fundraisers. The first is a pumpkin carving contest on Oct 25thYou can help by promoting the event to your friends and family outside the congregation, this will be a family friendly, socially distant event that could be really helpful for families that are in need of a trick-or-treat substitute.

We hope to host an outdoor produce sale in November. You can help again by inviting friends and family from outside the congregation. These produce sales have always been a great way to raise funds for the congregation by purchasing items everyone is going to buy anyway as we prepare meals for family around Thanksgiving.

In December we are planning to take our outdoor Christmas light show to a whole new level by adding a drive thru living nativity. Likely taking place on December 18th and 19th this event will require a substantial volunteer group. You can help by volunteering for a role in the nativity (think Christmas pageant for all ages but without the speaking lines), we will need set up help and tear down, help with directing traffic and lots of promotion.

Our church is in a tough financial spot. We talk of bringing our time, talents and treasure to the altar. Now more than ever, we need all three. For every fundraiser there are ways to help financially and through your volunteer efforts. All the events will have activities to do at home and on the computer. Everyone can participate in some way and by doing so we will walk together through this difficult time. God Bless you for all the ways you have and will continue to support the work of St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church.

            See you Sunday,
